A Georgia man stole a pregnant woman’s cell phone Downtown today, after he asked her if he could use it to place a call, the Allegheny County sheriff’s office said.
Around 11:30 a.m., Marcus Quevi of Lithonia, Ga., snatched the woman’s phone and ran along the 300 block of Forbes Avenue, the sheriff’s office said in a press release. He ran past Cmdr. Michele Terry, who briefly grabbed him before he escaped again, and then two good Samaritans, Heath Close and William McCoy, wrestled him to the ground.
County police arrested Mr. Quevi and took him to the Allegheny County Jail on charges of theft, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was wanted on three magisterial warrants for retail theft, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
